We are confronted with a refugee crisis, as thousands of children, mostly from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, run for their lives, coming to the United States in the hope of finding safe haven. In 2011, 92 people out of every thousand residents were murdered. El Salvador ranked second, with 70 murders per 1,000 people. For comparison, the U. murder rate that year was 5 per 1,000.
